This is MY INDIA.

I often times like to fantasize about what I would do if I was the Prime Minister... or president... or... whoever makes the top executive decisions in the Indian Government. I think that if I was given a reasonable amount of power, I could change the entire face of India for the better. I realize that no one person has so much power to do so, but I could imagine that those individuals who have a high standing within the government itself can get a lot done.

First off, I would completely and entirely deregulate the economy to the point that it is a free market. I would declare a separation between economy and state, and would deem it unconstitutional to tamper with the economy for any reason. I would remind the citizens that the government's soul duty, if any, is to try guarantee it's people basic civil liberties. I would even characterize taxation and economic tampering at the state level as unconstitutional.

Of course a free market would imply an absence of central banking, and therefore I would in theory have to advocate the destruction of the Reserve Bank of India. Now, that could prove catastrophic for the billions of people who hold their wealth in Rupees. So, rather than just doing that, I would try to reinstate a gold standard, and try to promote digital gold banking. This already exists but not at debit card status. Once somebody can figure that out, the currency should stabilize. I think we could then ease into gold easier, or we could continue letting the reserve bank do whatever, but declare that Digital Gold Banking is now the way to go.

A free market also means that people are allowed to trade with other people in different countries. So, I would say "Hey, we trade with all countries, even you Pakistan!" So our country will allow it's people to trade with Pakistanis as long as Pakistanis are allowed to do so as well. If Pakistan doesn't want to trade with India, then there is nothing we can do. But hey, at least the door is always open for Pakistan and anyone else.

This free trade is very important to it's foreign policy as well. Ideally, the Indian Government is strictly entitled to the people it governs, so it cannot ally with other countries since that would imply that the Government is liable to other countries, which it is not. This doesn't mean that we are vulnerable to everyone else so long as we trade with them. No country it's biggest trading partner. The worst thing we can do is meddle, sanction or embargo. I would declare neutrality as constitutional, and any deviation of this is unconstitutional.

As a libertarian, I should advocate that the people have the freedom to bare arms, but that seems like a messy job, so this too would require some easing into. But, I guess there is no real good way to ease into this. I think that at the very least all women should have the right to carrying a gun, because they are the biggest victims of Gun-control in India. India is currently a rape center, and guns can really help in this situation. Maybe I should let the states patrol themselves, that way the Kashmir problem can be solved. I would advocate militias versus a national army.

So yes, I would work to further make libertarian policy a reality, but I would make sure that this policy cannot be changes or tampered with AT ALL. In fact, democracy in it's totally cannot override these policies. It's very important to make this changes permanent. Once my initial libertarian reforms take hold and settles in, I will work to create an even smaller government to the point perhaps the brink of anarchy. Let's face it, India would have been much better off if it had adopted anarchy 60 years ago then this incredibly dangerous and chaotic bureaucratic dictatorship.
